The kit includes the following precision components: Base plate and handle with eye hook at bottom, adjustable aluminum pointer base with carbon fiber telescoping pointer and magnetic graph, 2 aluminum blocks with "V" groove, 2 Delrin spacer blocks with "V" grooves, rare earth magnet bar to attach opposite end of bungee cord, 2 each short and long bungee cords with optional mounting ring, 4 each short and long cap screws for mounting blocks, 2 "U" bolts and 5 spacer plates
The kit is designed to be used on any safe that uses a direct entry style of combination lock where the handle forces the locking mechanism into the combination wheels. This universal kit allows the safe technician to connect it to virtually any handle design using the various components included. The precision components allow the base plate to be securely fastened to the handle damage free and will not move during the manipulation process. The pointer is adjustable in length and angle so the pointer can positioned just off of the magnetic graph to observe enhanced changes of the handle rotation. This revolutionary pointer design will not vibrate when the handle is released by the bungee cord allowing for instant readings without waiting for the pointer to stop. The constant handle tension is accomplished by the extended length handle which allows minimum bungee cord tension to create a consistent reading of the handle rotation
A typical "T" handle connection of the base plate is accomplished by the threaded aluminum blocks behind the handle with the Delrin spacer blocks on the top side of the handle. The Delrin spacers allow the base plate to fit securely without hitting the ball end of the arbor and will not damage the handle in any way. Once the base plate has been fastened it will not move during the manipulation process. The adjustable pointer base is attached to the threaded hole at the top of the base plate when used in the horizontal position.
A typical "L" handle connection of the base plate is accomplished by the threaded aluminum blocks behind the handle with the Delrin spacer blocks on the top side of the handle. Although it is not mandatory, notice the spacer plates between the Delrin block and the base plate. This is to counteract the different handle diameter from one end of the handle to the other which allows the base plate to sit flat. The adjustable pointer base is attached to the threaded hole at the top of the base plate
On most flat type handles it is best to use the "U" bolt fastening method with the Delrin blocks under the base plate. Since the handle is flat, the semi-circular portion of the "U" bolt will stay in place better than the flat aluminum block under the handle. The "U" bolts can also be used on safes with a low clearance between the bottom of the handle and the door surface if the aluminum blocks are too thick.
